I knitted these cards this summer for Vicky and Jon’s wedding and my Mum’s birthday.

Happy Birthday Ruthie card

I first met Ruth on my first day at Nottingham University in September 1998. I had a six pack of Hooch, a bottle of Mr Muscle and a packet of j-cloths and she had a contempt for my opinion that Newport was the new Seattle. We’ve been friends ever since.

Knowing how much Ruthie loves to follow my craftfy antics, I made her a special knitted birthday card last year.

I think she’s angling for a tea cosy this year, or perhaps some gloves to keep her warm on the allotment. We’ll have to see if she’s been a good enough girl.
